Will a Babson MBA be worth it? I don’t know whether it will be worth it for you, but I do know the Babson Fast Track MBA was absolutely worth it for me. It was worth the substantial financial investment. It was worth the countless hours of studying and work. It was worth the sacrifices, both my own as well as those made by my family.

The Babson MBA in general, and the Babson Fast Track MBA in particular, like most things, is a mix of the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. You can play a snippet of the song yourself to get in the mood for the rest of the column. Ennio_Morricone-The_Good,_The_Bad_And_The_Ugly Try not to whistle out loud as you play the clip.

A little over one year ago, I finished up my final coursework for my MBA from Babson College. The program I completed was the Fast Track MBA. For two years, I was part of a cohort of 88 classmates who met face-to-face every six weeks on Fridays and Saturdays, while also completing weekly assignments, discussions and attending lectures online. On average I spent about 20 hours a week studying and fulfilling the requirements for the Babson Fast Track MBA, while continuing to spend my normal 50+ plus hours a week working full-time.

No one will ever accuse me of being a polyglot, but I’ve dabbled with quite a few languages: French, Latin, German, Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, a little Russian and most recently Chinese, both spoken and written with the goal of becoming fluent enough to conduct business and read a newspaper entirely in Mandarin.

I recently helped solve an intermittent network/server problem for a client. This problem had been confounding the IT staff of this firm for quite a while and although this wasn’t why I was on site it was impacting my ability to complete my specific consulting work. So I stepped in and started troubleshooting the problem in hopes of getting it fixed so I could get back to work.
